What we collect

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (pages visited, device type, general location). We do not collect personal information unless you choose to give it to us — for example, when you contact us or sign up for school data-update alerts.

If you provide an email address for school alerts, we use it only to send the updates you asked for. We never sell or share it, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe.

Cookies

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to measure site traffic and, where ads are shown, to serve advertising. Third-party vendors may also use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect or receive information from this site and use it to provide measurement services and targeted ads. You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Advertising

This site may display advertising served by Google, including through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Users in the European Economic Area and UK can opt out at youronlinechoices.com.

Third parties

We do not sell your personal data. Analytics and advertising data are processed by Google and its partners under their own privacy terms, described in Google’s privacy & terms.

Data sources and children’s privacy

All school performance data displayed on this site comes from publicly available state department of education records. It describes schools, not individuals — no student-level data is collected or displayed. The site is intended for parents and is not directed at children under 13; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can request a copy of any personal information we hold about you (typically just an alert-signup email address), or ask us to delete it, by emailing us. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the GA opt-out browser add-on.
