School Overview

Elgin is a small, tight-knit ranching community tucked into the Grande Ronde Valley of northeastern Oregon, where the pace is slower and everybody knows everybody. Elgin High School reflects that close community feel, and while its academic scores are a work in progress — particularly in math — families who value small-town connection, outdoor access, and a school where students aren't just a number may find it a comfortable fit. It's the kind of place where kids grow up with a strong sense of place, surrounded by mountains, farms, and a community that shows up for its own.
